BS National Technical University of Athens
PhD program

“Buffalo is ideal for studying–you don't have a lot of time and there is plenty to do in that time. Also Toronto in Canada is a nice city at a convenient distance for visiting.”

Eletheria wanted to continue her studies abroad but she was confining her interests to European universities. “Then I heard about UB's program from a friend, I applied and was accepted with funding, and I thought why not another continent?”

She is working with colloidal systems: structure-property relationships in associating polymer solutions. The general area of study is complex fluids and soft materials. In addition to her work, Eletheria has enjoyed teaching. “I was a teaching assistant in my advisor's undergraduate course and I had real responsibilities in the class: I taught in the recitation classes and I had real contact with students. I think if one stays in the academy, teaching should be part the work.”
