Bharat joined the department the same year as his advisor, Stelios Andreadis, so he's seen his lab develop from its first days to its present well-equipped state. His work in the lab has focused on genetically modified skin. After defending his thesis, Bharat will take a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania where he plans to diversify his research interests.

“I'm into winter sports, so I always look forward to winter here in Buffalo.” Bharat describes his entire graduate experience in Buffalo as “a blast.”
