Dave started his doctoral program already planning to work in the area of tissue engineering and he says now, after finishing, that he got into the field “right at the right time.” Dave describes chemical and biological engineering as taking knowledge from both chemistry and biology and making things work. Specifically, Dave worked with Stelios T. Andreadis in the Engineering Biotechnology Laboratory on problems of drug delivery through skin using artificial skin as a model.
